Review on ENOMAKER Near End Extrusion Conversion Kit: Enhanced Extruder Performance and Convenience by Alan Massey

I wish I could give it 5 stars. It's so close. First, it works much better than stocks. This kit contains everything you need. The Ender 5 is great but awkward at times. This mod not only improves reliability but also makes it easier to use depending on your settings. Overall, this kit is easy to install, uses high quality parts (except for the extruder) and is more ergonomic than more expensive direct drive conversion kits. The two issues I'm having are with the extruder and not the rest of the kit. The rest of the kit is worth its price without the extruder. 1) The movable thumb lever on the new extruder works fine but is weaker than I would like. It just looks cheap. 2) The extruder inlet has no threaded hole to attach the bowden tube. I didn't need this feature because I switched to a reel to reel system. However, if you plan on leaving the spool in place, this can pose a problem. Don't forget the shore counter. The shore switch was not included with my harness. It sits under my printer which has a 6 inch piece of filament stuck in it. I'm so glad I don't have a Bowden tube that I don't bother with the coast sensor. I'm sure it would be easy to get it back into the system with a few printed parts. AND ! Don't forget to set the X switch. The new car is slightly wider than the original. (Straps are the same length) After installing the new carriage and turning off the power, move the center of the nozzle to the far right edge of the bed. Set switch X to work at this point. (You have about 1cm of bounce room on each side.) If you don't do this, the carriage will fall to the left, probably at the end of each print. This has happened to me and didn't hurt. However, it made a scary sound that made me wince. Note: I really, really hate bowden whistles #%&&! . Life is just better without them.
