This is the best travel gear I have ever bought for my 16 pound shih tzu mix. This is perfect in New York because I can walk my dog and then just put him in my bag when we get in a cab, bus or subway. She feels secure in a bag but can also see everything when tucked under my arm. When I took my dog on American Airlines to Florida and North Carolina, I found this bag more convenient than his trolley bag, which I also bought for the trip. It was easier to get through security and easier to pick up and drop off once we boarded the plane. It was also easier to go up and down the various escalators at the airport when driving to our gates. This bag is perfect for business when you're shopping, but restaurants won't let dogs in, even in a bag, with rare exceptions. The bag's inner pockets are water-repellent, which was reassuring because they held the important documents (veterinary health certificate and rabies vaccination card) that airlines require for the trip. The outer pockets held their collapsible food bowls, water bottles, and food containers. This is a durable bag well worth the investment.
