Review on 96945WR One Inch Extension Posi Temp Wrought by Chad Carter

Of course this extension solves the problem with Moen Posi-Temp installations where the valve is built too far into the wall cavity. I want to thank Moen for providing this, but I have to do it AGAINST CONFLICT. The reason is the vague installation instructions for the "valve". What Moen doesn't clarify is that when inserting the valve into a wall cavity, the brass stem should protrude at least 1/2 inch beyond the base of the exterior wall (i.e. the tile). doesn't mention the option to purchase an expansion kit (#96945) if you need one. After spending an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with the install and contemplating tearing down the wall or changing the overlay to I turned to the internet to fix the problem, only to find that I'm not the only wizard having this problem. MOEN, you need to revise your instructions to make it clearer how to properly position and install the valve and add additional information about the extension kit. and how to buy it when you need it.
