Bluetooth requires more power than my motherboard's USB port provides

Since my desktop didn't have Bluetooth as a feature and I needed to upgrade my wireless card, I opted for this two-in-one package. .Everything was pretty easy, except I couldn't get Bluetooth functionality after installing the driver. I tried several drivers, but every time the computer restarted, no Bluetooth devices were installed. After much thought, it occurred to me that the USB port on my motherboard might not be supplying enough power to power Bluetooth. Following these thoughts, I bought a USB adapter with two USB ports. I plugged the Bluetooth power cord into the adapter and then pulled the adapter cord out of the back of the computer and plugged both USB ports into the back of the motherboard. Bluetooth works great now!
