Lower price = lower brakes
Brakes are ok but the springs are not built very evenly and part of the brake rubs against part of the brake - had to bend it a bit to reduce friction. Also, the tension adjustment on the springs isn't the greatest, making it difficult to balance and adjust. Generally they are good for a kids bike (my son's 24 inch MTB) and for a non serious adult MTB that you will never ride down an aggressive hill.
- Lightweight rim brakes provide more stopping power.
