I have not tried other insect nets but this one worked very well for my hammock. Installation is easy and the ends are tight around my hammock rope. When I turned it on, not a single mosquito flew to me, although I can hear them buzzing everywhere. This year I treated the entire mesh with permethrin, maybe that helped too. The zip works well and the mesh and stitching seem pretty solid. I accidentally sat on the net several times while climbing in a hammock and it is perfectly preserved, without tears. You still need to be careful of touch points (shoulders/arms) where your skin can touch the hammock and insect net. Bed bugs can still bite you here. I always make sure I'm in my sleeping bag to make sure the material is deep enough so they can't reach me. I definitely couldn't (wouldn't) sleep in a hammock without it.
