TL;DR The second generation Bip S watch is inferior to the previous Bip watch in almost every way. I have both and advise you to look elsewhere. Longer Version: After about 6 months of owning the Bip 2. I think it's a solid 1 star. Not that "I want to set 0". no Well deserved 1 star. Below is a comparison with the original Amazfit Bip (I have both) side by side. Before I bought the Bip S (let's call it the Bip 2) I looked at a few side-by-side comparisons on Youtube. And let me tell you. I was completely devastated after receiving this "update". A remarkable thing. I ordered a Bip 2 from China for the first time in early 2020, it didn't work properly. I told myself it was just bad luck. I bought another one in a different color from Revain. who all had the same problems. MY GOD. Makes me more confident in my rating. To make the story short, I just want to focus on the "upgrades" that are stated in the descriptions. * Display: more colors. It appears to have more colors but is much darker as a result. I could update this review with a picture. But for me the difference is huge. I CANNOT see the Bip 2's glossy display indoors; but on Bip 1 I can. It's just not a compromise you want to make, trust me. The same happens in direct sunlight. So it's not cool to increase colors but decrease contrast.* Battery life. 40 days stated. Even after 1.5 years, Bip 1 easily lasted 30 days, Bip 2 lasted a maximum of 2 weeks with all the same activities. If you turn off the heart rate monitor, it might last 3?* water resistance. I've swum in both and both are fine so it's a tie for me. * improved communication. Do not even think about it. it keeps disconnecting from my phone. It got a lot worse. One feature I liked about the Bip 1 is the phone split alert. Amazfit REMOVED this option from the menu because they couldn't get it to work (?). Same application. Beep 1 has it, but Beep 2 doesn't. This feature is worth its weight in gold! saved me from forgetting my phone so often. As I leave, after about 100 feet, the clock tells me to come back. That's great. And makes it clear that the manufacturer had problems with the new Bluetooth technology. * Heart rate monitor. It looks a lot bigger and brighter, it should be better, right? I wore both, used them while running, sleeping, etc. The old watch worked fine when I was quiet or asleep, but I had some issues with running. The new one can't even do well if I jump from 60 to 100 for no reason.* Dials. The Bip 2 is said to have "new customizable display options". And while I agree it works, it's still terrible. The old Bip has 1000 watchfaces to choose from, the Bip 2 only had a few a year later. A year has passed, Bip 2 must have something good, and there is:* OS. This is an improvement. I can control music from the watch. volume and navigation. And other nice little things and improvements. Like a gentler swiping motion.
