I got one of these because I only had one with two sockets and it seems like everyone who gets in my car has to charge the unit. It charges several at once and lights up when connected. This is very convenient because a) you can plug in a USB drive at night, and b) you know how to turn it off when you get out of the car, c) if you haven't turned it off, you can look out the window and see a blue light. I would recommend if you have a smaller car battery, disconnect it when not using the car if you have multiple devices connected at the time. I have a large battery in the van and it's not dead yet. Also, where I live it gets very, very hot at 110 degrees Fahrenheit, which means my car is 20 degrees warmer and still running. Sterling recommendation.
