Why is the pressure plate bent? Is it damaged?

The product arrived to me a bit damaged, parts were floating around the box from a broken accessory bag, but I also found paint chips and surprisingly the pressure plate is slightly bent in the middle so I'm not sure whether it can flat paper, everything you put in there seems to be slightly curved to match the curvature of the board. Is it on purpose?
