Review on Omega S Brush Model S10018 Synthetic Shave & Hair Removal by Megan Davis

Inexpensive Gem

This is a great brush for the price. With good care you will get the best shave for years. Some people even scare me when we find something at such a low price and we end up questioning the quality of such products. But there's a reason Omega is still in demand in the wet shaving industry. The brush comes like a little friend. It's not even average, especially in my hands. But this little one can whip up a huge froth, especially in a bowl. This is a fairly medium sized attic brush with tons of bones. Like badger hair brushes, boar bristles must be conditioned and softened before use. Even after 6 months of rotary use and daily shaving, my brush still has a slight odor, but not unpleasant. But that's not a problem for me because as soon as it shows up in a soap or cream, that smell is gone. These brushes also need to be soaked before use to ensure a soft feel on the face. When I first got this brush, I lathered it up in a bowl of kitchen soap and let it sit for 1 hour. Then I washed the brush with a hair conditioner solution after lathering, you can use any, especially the ones you like the smell of. This will soften the bristles and remove the odor from the brush. I leave it on for 24 hours and then wash it off. After going through this process, I lather the brush with shaving soap daily and let it sit, repeating this process 15 to 20 times. I do this with all my boar bristle brushes. After going through all these steps, depending on the sensitivity of your facial skin, you should start lathering the bowl and lathering your face. I say this because I'm someone who encounters suds and usually can't get through the first few shaves with this new brush, I prefer very soft bristles and I was able to get that consistency after three shaves with this brush. It's great, although it doesn't have as much soap and cream as a badger brush, this little one will impress you. I'm a full time musician and I shave every day, I took this brush on tour and use it every day. It gave me 30 amazing shaves with no problems. After shaving, I rinse the brush, run it gently over a towel, and let it air dry upside down. This will ensure any remaining water escapes by gravity without damaging the hair and the glue holding the bristles. This brush was also able to do this for two of my Holy Grail razors. I'll list the gear I use on these two razors below, and you can check out the reviews of any product I've listed on Revain!
