Type of review

I like the compact size relative to my old large 3-button Genie remote openers. But the programming instructions (Section C of operating instruction sheet) were not so easy to follow for my old remotes that each have 12 code switches. I had to locate some U-tube videos in order to help me get it done. Once programmed, these small remotes work fine.

Pros
  • They were easy to program, and we like them a lot.
Cons
  • The battery was dead.

Works great for new and older openers

Excellent product.I have one of the older garage door openers with the dip switches (12). This product works with the newer openers and the old one like mine. In my case you set the dip switches to the first door opener dip switches settings, then press the B, C or D button (indicates number of dip switches as some have 9 or 12) a yellow light comes on to say your selection of dip switches are accepted then press one of the three opener buttons on the front of the unit. A green light flashes…

Pros
  • easy to connect...
Cons
  • The buttons on the remote are not clearly labeled

Easy to install: my feedback

There are a couple of You Tube videos explaining how to set up the "dip" switches. so if you are unsure, just watch. The one You Tube had the Intellecode at the beginning, but wait until closer to the end to learn about the dip switches. just copy your old remote, or open the front light panel on the unit in the garage and take a photo of the switches on the left side. DON'T TOUCH the right side. copy. Hold down "C" until the light comes on (12 dip switch setup for me) and press the middle…

works like charm: my feedback

Very easy to pair up. Straight out of box and set up in minutes. I live in a rental property and owner lost remote to the garage door opener. Arrived in two days and very easy to use.

Pros
  • I love this piece of device
Cons
  • The price is too high for a single remote

I have an older Genie SD9000 garage door opener that I have been trying to find a remote for. Since it is an older model, it has been difficult. I didn't have a remote to get the correct code from for the 12 code dip switch, as the instructions stated, so I searched youtube and found a video which showed how easy it is to find on the garage door opener itself. Near where the light bulb goes, there is an opening that shows the position of the 12 switches. I simply matched them up to the switches

Pros
  • WORKS WITH MULTIPLE TECHNOLOGIES: Compatible with Intellicode Technology, 9/12 dip switch, Genie Gated Community Receivers and fixed code trinary technology.
Cons
  • The remote is difficult to program without professional help

It works well! good for me

Turns out all I had to do was depress the assigned button several times since my garage door opener was quite old. Customer service by phone took 2 hours wait but they do call back. It was worth speaking to them. Chat is only if one doesn't follow the instructions closely. The remotes work and are easy to install.

Pros
  • ‎10.75 x 7.75 x 2.75 inches
Cons
  • The programming instructions are poorly written and hard to follow

Works well with older door openers but has a short range

We use it with 2 older garage door openers that use DIP switches. It opens the doors and appears to be solidly built. The one issue is range. I need to be in the driveway fairly close to the door to open it - the front of the car needs to be within 10-20 ft of the door. Maybe our old garage doors are to thick.

Pros
  • Building Materials
Cons
  • The buttons on the remote are not responsive enough

Excellent replacement for old opener!

This pair of remotes were a perfect replacement for some 20+ year-old devices that had seen better days. The pin setup was straightforward and they work exactly how they should. You can decide which of the buttons you want to use, and it's very nice to have a clip on the device that actually hangs on to the sun visor! If you have an old remote that is starting to fail, these are the perfect replacement!

Pros
  • COMPATIBLE WITH MOST GENIE OPENERS: Designed to work with most types of Genie garage door openers manufactured since 1993.
Cons
  • The remote does not come with a battery included

Worked perfectly!: my feedback

Used for 2 openers. One used the 12 dip switches. The other Intellicode 1. Took about 5 minutes to program each which is mostly reading the instructions. Works absolutely perfect!

Pros
  • ‎Lithium Manganese Dioxide
Cons
  • The remote lacks important features such as a backlit screen

Ordered two, got one new, one used

PROs: Instructions in the new box. Easy set up. Works with my ancient Blue Max screw drive opener. Replaces a GT912 and older GT90-T. Can use with newer Intelligent openers also.CONs: I ordered two. One had a torn/taped box, No battery protector, no plastic sleeve, and no instructions. I feel that the Seller misled me. The battery is weaker in the open box unit. The Genie store should issue me a credit.

Pros
  • USER FRIENDLY DESIGN: Sleek design with large buttons, LED indicators, and visor clip. Pack of 2 ensures everyone in your family has a garage door opener!
Cons
  • The remote does not have a long lifespan due to poor manufacturing

Exceeded my expectations!

I needed two new remote controls for my 20 year old Genie garage door opener. I always shop Best Buy due to high expectations in price and service. I found the right remote at the right price sold by 365GarageDoorParts, an Best Buy affiliate. I ordered two of the remotes on April 5th, and the package arrived very quickly on the 9th. An oversight had occurred in that only one remote was in the package. That afternoon, I emailed Best Buy and explained about the missing remote. I expected to hear…

Pros
  • Building Supplies
Cons
  • The remote is not compatible with newer garage door models

Like all Genie garage door openers that I ever owned it's okay for the most part. It's works most of the time, but it can be tempermental and not work until you are closer to the garage door, turn the remote the right direction, hit the sweet spot, or spit on it. Unfortunately, we're stuck with them. Be careful buying generic openers, I did and found that they didn't work as advertised.so what else is new. I tried setting it for two garage doors, it initially worked, then a short time later it…

Perfect for older model motors. Poor range

Update: while this was so easy to set up and I’m thankful I could find something for my dinosaur motor, the range is horrible! I need to basically be on top of my door for it to open.Perfect and so easy!Let me start by saying that my garage door motor is a dinosaur from the early 90’s. My pin pad recently broke and they don’t make them anymore I had to find one on eBay 🤦🏻‍♀️My door opener for the car has been on its last legs for a while and when my daughter decided to run away for me the…

So easy to program in my review

I have an old genie garage door owner which uses dipswitches. I matched the dip switches on the remote with those of the garage door opener, pressed the set button for two seconds, and when the blinking light started, pressed the button I planned to use and that was it. So easy and quick to program. I haven't experienced any of the issues in the negative reviews (lose battery, weak signal, etc.). I'd recommend watching a YouTube video on how to program it. The video takes a few minutes to…

Abnother excellent product from Genie.

My Genie G-8000 garage opener was installed in 1993 and has been working without a single problem for 27 years (what a product!). Suddenly one of remotes stopped working (battery checked). I open it up and found that the metal spring contact plate had broken. I called Genie in search for replacement remote. The rep suggested GenieMaster GMT3, the universal remote that'd work with old Code Switches technology (no Intellycode in 1993), he also gave me detailed direction on programming.Best Buy…

Worked Perfectly! - my new review

I have 2 very old Genie garage door openers. This remote worked for both. It was easy to program. Great product! That's my feedback.

Pros
  • ‎1 year manufacturer
Cons
  • The remote interferes with other signals in the area

Awesome Remote for my opinion

I was glad to find this remote as my garage door is older and the original remote is no longer available. If you are tech savvy, it's easy to program the remote. If not, you will need assistance.

Pros
  • ‎2 Pack
Cons
  • The syncing process is complicated and time-consuming

Works perfect - easy to install

Remote was delivered same day it was ordered. Was easy to set up by following the instructions. Had it working in minutes.

Pros
  • Very easy to use
Cons
  • It takes too long to sync the remote with the garage door opener

IT WORKED! Old Genie Screw Drive

The remote looks nice, I was able to program it with no issues even though I have a super old Genie. Only thing is there are 3 buttons on the remote, i only need 1 it looks like, no biggie. It does say you can program it to multiple garage's.

Pros
  • ‎Genie
Cons
  • The remote is easily damaged if dropped or mishandled

Works on older doors, as well

I was concerned that the description said it would work with doors back to 1993. After speaking with and sending photos of our Genie opener from 1982, they assured me it would work. When I received it, they talked me through the way to set the dip switches and it did! I was then able to program it so the new car could also open the door.

Pros
  • ‎Model GM3T-R
Cons
  • The remote is easily lost due to its small size
