I have an old genie garage door owner which uses dipswitches. I matched the dip switches on the remote with those of the garage door opener, pressed the set button for two seconds, and when the blinking light started, pressed the button I planned to use and that was it. So easy and quick to program. I haven't experienced any of the issues in the negative reviews (lose battery, weak signal, etc.). I'd recommend watching a YouTube video on how to program it. The video takes a few minutes to watch. Programming takes about 15 seconds (excluding toggling the dip switches).
