These bags are WATERPROOF at best - they are NOT WATERPROOF. The nylon material used to make these bags differs from other marine bags that use heavier vinyl that is actually waterproof with the same type of flap closure. in toilet paper - resulting in the paper becoming wet almost immediately. Even if I seal these bags with tape, they will never be watertight. These bags are handy for storing things and they are quite inexpensive; So I'm happy with my purchase and will definitely use them for camping. I can even use them for boating but these bags fit inside my other waterproof boat bags when not in use to keep the contents from getting wet.
