The clip works pretty well but needs better attachment to the vent.
I use this with my iPhone XR. The clip that holds the phone works well. I like the gravity clamp as it seems less likely to break compared to other mechanisms. The vent mount is based on friction. Instead, I use a hooked vent from an old mount. I would have preferred this mount to include a hook opening which is much more secure on heavier phones. I've never dropped my phone while driving, but I've had many times that friction mounts failed to the point where I find them dangerous and would rather cause an accident than prevent one.
