Failed immediately but good support and got everything right

Very disappointing and frustrating that this was a non-standard error. But - I give Dell tech support 5 stars and how quickly they fixed everything - I had a new one within 24 hours of calling. All in all, apart from not working when I got it, it's a handy product. Lots of inputs and great features. Beware of connecting to an ethernet network - this got me hooked and there's a lot about it on the web. If your ethernet fails as soon as you plug it in, don't spend 3 days trying to figure it out…

2 of 2 tot for laptop accessories

The first device I received was my Latitude 7290 which was listed as compatible with this dock on the Dell website but no HDMI or Video connection VGA did not work. I've tried all troubleshooting steps including updating my laptop's firmware and docking station to no avail. Oddly, my $34 Anker dock still works, just plug and play. I processed a return for a replacement at Revain. They sent it to me extremely quickly - in one day and I ordered it on Sunday. Unfortunately, things got worse and…

Good quality, works perfectly.

I'm using this on a 2018 MacBook Pro with no problems. Quality at the highest level. The USB-C cable is heavy and long enough to go from the bottom of my desk to the top. MacOS 10.14 recognizes Realtek's built-in audio perfectly. Mac users may want to make Ethernet USB the preferred (first) network interface so the MacBook doesn't try to use wireless instead. I have both active at the same time, which is necessary for the Apple Watch to automatically unlock the computer. The only complaint I…

  • Nice to use

This dock comes with a 130w or 180w adapter although Revain's description at the time of the Kaufs said 180 watts in one spot and 130 in another, so I wasn't aware that Dell had two docks with the same model number but different power supplies. When I plugged in my Dell XPS 9560 with the 130w adapter I got a message saying it won't charge because it needs more power so I have to use the laptop's power cord when docked to charge to avoid discharging the battery. I sent it back to 180w which…

defective product / terrible support

I had weird little glares when I first started using this product but I didn't pay much attention then one day after playing around with it I thought it stopped working that the lightning cable is broken, if you wiggle it right in the base of the dock it sometimes works, I called Amazon support and they said I had a 30 day return policy (about a week) and I would have to get the Dell -Call support so I called Dell support where they told me the product is over a year old so they don't have…

Yes It Works - Computers & Accessories

We originally purchased the TB16 docking station for use with newer Dell laptops such as the Latitude 74xx and up and newer XPS models. TB16 is terrible. Then we tried it. In short: IT WORKS. There were no special drivers, no special setup - just plug it in. Unlike other docking stations, it has no moving parts or fans. It's small, has lots of ports, works well, and just works. You can use dual digital monitors (meaning you're not tied to 1 DVI and 1 VGA like previous Dell docks) by using one…

Pros
  • Great Product
Cons
  • Serviceable

WD15 may be superior in some cases. But I bought it and a DELL Inspiron 15 7579. I'm totally disappointed when I tried to use them together on my desk. The WD15 does not clearly state the requirements for USB-C. USB-C in this computer is very limited. Does not work with DELL WD15 Dock (USB-C). In fact, it works partially. The on/off button doesn't work at all. You cannot load WD15 drivers because the laptop does not recognize that the device is connected via USB-C. I had to manually download…

Delivering on promises

I really wish I liked the WD15 and had a single cable dock, but it's not reliable and Dell support says it can't be fixed. I tried this with the new Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 (model 7378), which has a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connector with DisplayPort Alternate Mode and USB Power Delivery. Dell distributors have repeatedly assured me that the WD15 and Inspiron 7378 are compatible, even though one product's website doesn't list the other as compatible. They said the websites are simply outdated. Some…

Exactly the right docking station for my Dell Inspiron!

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 laptop (purchased August 2016) with Windows 10 that I use on my desktop as much as I use it on the road. I was looking for something that would allow me to have a full desktop experience at home with just one cable plugged into my laptop and it fit the bill. I was able to use all of my old (and I used my old) peripherals - VGA monitor, USB keyboard and mouse - and it worked right out of the box. All peripherals…
