The metal on these connectors is very thin. To get an idea of how thin it is, look at the male part of the shovel and notice that it's twice the thickness of the metal used - it's curved with folds on each side and a joint in the Center. I wouldn't use them for connections that will be plugged and unplugged frequently as I expect them to bend and loosen over time (the plug/connector part, not the crimp/shrink part). " crimping tool (before my heat shrink crimp tool arrived) and it was a disaster. The part of the tool that crimps the grommet damaged the grommet and the metal wasn't crimped well enough to prevent the wire from being pulled easily I didn't trust the electrical connection of the connector, although the shrink action held the wire to the terminal, I waited until my custom shrink crimp tool (Haisstronica HS-8327) arrived - and changed that - before posting negative feedback and returning the connectors The crimp held a moderate amount of force, so I trusted the electrical contact between the wire and the connector After heat shrinking, the connection between the wire and terminal feels waterproof and almost indestructible Use a decent heat gun on low settings to seal the shrinkage to control without melting the insulation of the wires I believe is the key to keep the heating up Wait until I can see the glue starting to seep around the wire insulation. If the body of the connector protrudes beyond the end of the female part of the connector, I have to be careful not to compress that part too much or it will shrink so much that the mating connector cannot be inserted. This can be corrected by carefully trimming off the extra skin with wire or wire cutters, but this is not easy to do well. Considering the quantity, the price and the fact that they work very well for most applications I find this to be amazing value for money.
