When we were designing a new room in our house, we knew we needed a wood stove. We planned that the fridge would be on one wall and the wood stove on the other wall. We realized at the last minute that the wood stove would need to be moved as there are solar panels on the ledge for the pipe to run through. So our wood-burning stove is next to our fridge - it was too late to rearrange everything. It doesn't look as uncomfortable as we thought, but the problem is the heat. This heat shield made sure of that! We fixed the whole plate to the side next to the heat source - now the fridge stays nice and cool!
