Customer Service Replaces DVR I will review this item once the replacement DVR is received and installed. When you buy a security system, it's because you care about your family or property. I have had several CCTV systems in the past; About 1 year ago, I bought: γMore stableγ 16CH SMONET CCTV System, 5 in 1 5MP CCTV Systems (2TB HDD), 16 pcs. 1080P Indoor Outdoor Home Security Cameras Night Vision DVR Kits Remote View I had some troubles with the setup initially so I had to contact SMONET customer service as they were amazing, very professional, polite and absolutely understanding of customers' needs. They walked me through the entire setup. Afterwards I was satisfied with the nice setup and system; I thought so at first but as we all know when you test drive a new car what can you really expect it to be wrong, brand new, everything works. The SMONET security is the same... very good at first, but after a few months problems start to appear. Six (6) cameras begin the intermittent transition from color to black and white almost simultaneously. Disappointing of course, especially if you enjoy social activities and would like to capture them from different angles and of course in colour. My biggest disappointment was not being able to use footage from my daughter's wedding, a huge disappointment, let alone other family gatherings. The next 1 camera, not the original six (6) that went from color to black and white intermittently, still works and yes it works with the same issue. I now have one (1) camera that showed snowy/grainy footage for about 1 month, then the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and now 5th camera started showing snowy/grainy footage until four (4) of them failed and the 5th snowy/grainy frames which I suspect will last about 1 month and also go empty. Of the 16 cameras, only five work properly, the remaining 11 will soon go to waste. Guarantee, so I contacted customer service, after a barrage of emails with videos, pictures, moving the camera location from a connection, the system remains the same. The customer service refused to send me a new system, their solution was to send me 1 camera, so I can replace a total of 16 cameras for troubleshooting if it is a camera or an actual system. Several months have passed and they have not replaced the camera or tried to find out if the problem is resolved. I do not recommend this product, remember the old adage you get what you pay for. I saved some money but ended up losing the entire purchase amount and then added the installation cost to insult my purchase.
