I've used this twice so far and I have 4 clear ice cream scoops that made everyone laugh at a recent meeting. The first time I froze it in our basement freezer for 30 hours and that was the perfect amount of time as the ice was just starting to form under the silicone and I suspect I wouldn't have any competing ice balls. The second time I forgot and it was 48 hours there and the tank underneath was also completely frozen over and it took some time for the hot running water to warm the walls enough to come out. The two side parts are mostly clean. And I love that the star bursts in the middle while the remaining impurities and air bubbles battle the freezing water expanding inward. I used Chicago tap water with a Brita filter. So far no complaints.
