Ideal for protecting aluminum coatings.

Waterproof? It is itself waterproof and will not be destroyed by water; but it doesn't protect your MacBook from water in a useful way. However, it protects the beautiful aluminum surface from scratches. One of the clips holding it to the MacBook has been damaged through normal use, but not enough to affect its purpose. Great for travel. Can increase the overall temperature of the Macbook when running performance-hungry functions as it insulates the aluminum body.
