Our recliners couches are 3 years old and still under a 5 yr warranty. I'd already replaced the handle were I sit once before about 1.5 years ago. The replacement lasted about 1.5 years breaking in the same spot. I was looking for something better so I ordered this instead of going the warranty route again. I'm more than happy with this FULL METAL replacement. Fit perfect, only issue is the cable end for my recliner was about half the size as the hole. It still goes in and holds in place. I'm ordering two more to have ready when another of those plastic pieces of crap break.
