Okay, I'm an avid car restorer. To install this exhaust you must first remove the transmission cross member on the Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3. This will save you about three hours of time. You only lower it enough for the passenger exhaust to engage. Good exhaust system for the money. Just be prepared to do a little trimming to remove the old exhaust. It took about five hours to complete the work. I also go to a muffler shop to weld an exhaust pipe where a clamp is required.
