My apartment has hardwood floors and I used to have to sweep several times a day because of the garbage my cats inevitably carried around the apartment. When I first opened the packaging of this rug I was quite skeptical at how simple the design is - it's basically the same as a 1/2 inch sheet of plastic covered with hexagonal concave holes for the filler to fall into and on another flat sheet of plastic underneath. . . But! To my great surprise, it actually works. Now, while it doesn't pick up every single piece of trash, the amount it used to track down my apartment has been reduced by at least 95% compared to before, so I'm very happy. Now I may only have to sweep every other day which is a huge improvement. The only major downside is that it's a little weird to clean, oddly it doesn't fold right in between the top and bottom layers (weird design choice) so it's a little fiddly to clean. Otherwise I would definitely recommend it.
