Children using this are 3 to 7 years old. It is durable which is why I bought it. The heavy discs that came with the swing eventually broke due to the extreme temperatures in Az. The reason I rate this seat a 3 is that it is difficult to balance on as the ropes and swing are not secured are. They are threaded through, which allows the seat to move, causing instability. Also, there is no clutch on the seat, making it quite slippery and slick. This causes children to fall while swinging. Especially if you give them a nudge. They also can't swing as high as vinyl swings. All kids prefer vinyl swings over these hard plastic swings. On the other hand, it's not that easy to break, but no one wants to use it.
