Good knife but poorly designed sheath

I liked this knife until the knife got caught on the underwater rail while diving. I freed myself from the grip, but only noticed as I approached that the knife eventually fell out. The reason I think it fell out is because the plastic shell's locking mechanism is spring-activated, which I hadn't noticed before. Anyway, I had one with a pointed nose and the other with a pointed tip. I took another plastic one. I liked this knife until the knife got stuck on the underwater guide during a dive. I freed myself from the grip, but only noticed as I approached that the knife eventually fell out. The reason I think it fell out is because the plastic shell's locking mechanism is spring-activated, which I hadn't noticed before. Anyway, I had one with a blunt nose and one with a pointy end. I removed a sharp point from a plastic sheath in the same style as the dull knife I lost and put it in the other sheath since it was already on my waist belt. Then I noticed that it wouldn't snap into place. I then compared the two cases and saw that the one I wasn't using had a spring pushing the locking mechanism in the case. The one I lost while diving with that feather is gone, so I'm guessing that while diving it somehow got caught on the feather that released underwater. If it weren't for the bad design of the sheath, I wouldn't have had any issues with the knife. Now I don't have an $80 knife, which I've only had for about four months, because of this flawed sheath design.
