If it works, it works. It definitely doesn't cool the room and you need to have it fairly close to you to get good cooling. But its fan blades are powerful and it has 3 (unlabeled) speeds: low, medium and high. You simply press the button on the back once in a row to change the speed. The button can be more or less flush since it's on the back of the fan and you really need to feel it. It doesn't stay charged for long if you run it at high speeds (this is probably expected and can be said for many fans). But overall it's a decent fan for what you're paying for it. I really like that it works without a direct USB connection (because of the included removable 18650 battery), but if you want optimal runtime and performance, keep it plugged into a power source: USB wall outlet. , computer, tablet or external battery.
