Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Bilstein 24065009 Shock Absorber for GM Light Trucks by Logan Broadnax

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bilstein dampers and springs for the Nivomat conversion - great!

I replaced the aftermarket front shock absorbers with these along with the Bilstein rear shock absorbers (24-143806) and springs (199020) on my production 4WD '03 Yukon XL SLT car with 103,000 miles. I converted rear shocks from Premium Smooth Ride (ZW7) Nivomat shocks (non-electronically controlled Nivomat shocks) and had to change fronts as well. I tow a 5,000 lb RV with a truck and use Air Lift 1000 spring airbags. I did a little research and called several salespeople to see if I should buy 4600 or 5100 series shocks and they all recommended 4600 for me. They have been in the truck for 3 weeks now. The roads in Northeast Ohio are in bad shape and I'm happy with the ride; the truck drives like new again, the ride height hasn't changed and everything is bolted up unchanged. I looked at other shock brands, but Bilstein had so many good reviews, particularly on the Yukon XL/Suburban blogs, that I was willing to pay a little more for a shock (compared to other stock shocks) knowing that other owners had had good experiences.
