Dear Bilstein shock absorbers

Dear Bilstein shock absorbers. quality product. Replaced the leaking shocks on a Chevy Silverado 03 with these and the ride was great. Very happy. Installation took an hour and a half per side. It would have been a lot quicker if I had the right sockets and extensions, so I ended up using hand wrenches.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not for everyone

Disappointing - spare parts

I'm really disappointed in my 2004 Suburban after switching to these mufflers. The ride is worse than the old worn out KYBs we replaced. Especially disappointed with the improvement in the same dampers when I installed them on a '99 Silverado. I can feel every bump and crack in the road. I don't know why they are so bad.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad

Best shock for my 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500!

Bought to replace my old worn blocks on my 2005 Chevy Avalanche. Revain's vehicle identification and parts validation feature worked great and helped with my purchase! This will be the third set of these wonderful shock absorbers that I have. was on my Avalanche, now with over 200,000 miles. I only bet him on BILSTEIN!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some flaws

The absolute best update

I had these on my 92 Ranger once and couldn't believe the difference in ride quality. Here we are, many years later, and my full-size 01 Low Mile Chevy is bringing it all back. The intended damping includes the rebound stage. Bounce again. Compression damping on impact is good, but once the suspension is back on the road it dampens rebound, putting these dampers ahead of everyone else. Can't recommend enough

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Bilstein dampers and springs for the Nivomat conversion - great!

I replaced the aftermarket front shock absorbers with these along with the Bilstein rear shock absorbers (24-143806) and springs (199020) on my production 4WD '03 Yukon XL SLT car with 103,000 miles. I converted rear shocks from Premium Smooth Ride (ZW7) Nivomat shocks (non-electronically controlled Nivomat shocks) and had to change fronts as well. I tow a 5,000 lb RV with a truck and use Air Lift 1000 spring airbags. I did a little research and called several salespeople to see if I should buy

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Weight

that's probably good. But issue

So far they work well (very limited tarmac performance so far) but the upper rubber shocks that come with them are not as OEM (GM) and definitely not as durable. OEM shocks have a steel compression ring in the upper rubber shocks that prevents the threaded rod from rubbing against the mounting bracket. The shocks that come with these shocks do not have this compression ring and rely entirely on the rubber geometry to protect the stem. Both upper rubber dampers have a ring-shaped part that must…

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
