Exclusively for the kitchen and dining room

About 10 years ago I had a meat grinder and it worked fine but nothing special. I tested many other meat grinders before buying this one and found most of them to be slow, or quite noisy, underpowered, or just don't last very long. Sure, I've looked at slicers that cost around $120 or less, but they just weren't what I was looking for - a quality product will work well and last a long time. Although this slicer costs more than I was willing to pay, it does exactly what I need it to do and does it impeccably. It's powerful, quiet, and exudes a quality that many things lack. Cleaning isn't an easy task, but I don't expect and haven't found a slicer that's a simple 'wipe'. But actually, taking out the pull-out tray and the center plate is very easy, and they are easy to clean in the sink. The blade must be removed to clean it and the area it works in. The need for extreme care when handling a blade cannot be overstated. Heavy and razor sharp, it must be handled with care. Wearing cut-resistant gloves would be a good idea; Using multiple layers of kitchen towels when handling is the minimum protection you need. The three hex head screws holding the blade can be easily unscrewed with the included wrench. It's easy to wash and dry, then set aside and machine wash the rest of the machine with a lightly soaped kitchen towel and rinse with a damp cloth. Assembling the three components (knife, center plate and drawer) on the machine is easy and the process complete. The thickness dial is difficult to turn, but it stays where you put it. The tray glides effortlessly. The back plate of the pull-out bowl (parallel to the blade) is metal and rigid - it holds the meat upright as you cut without wobbling or bending. The smooth-edged blade cuts perfectly and every slice is perfect. Although the price for a household cutter is quite high, it is a very high quality machine that can easily be used for light commercial purposes. If you can afford it you won't be disappointed. Chances are your next generation will be happy with it too.

Pros
  • High quality chrome steel blade with anti-corrosion protection
Cons
  • For the elderly
