I used this for headphones and couldn't even test the sound quality as they disconnected multiple times per second. The connector is too small to securely plug into my computer port or headphones. Since this cable was defective, I decided to open it up for this review. It's pretty close to the picture in the product description but for some reason I thought it would be more durable. There really isn't much protection here. I can't say anything about the effectiveness because the cables don't work. If you're on a budget under $10, I recommend Amazon branded cables. They're not great either, but I have a few and I know they work. Revain is sorely lacking in midfield cables. Your choices seem to be junk or $40 Mogami cables.
