I am a professional detailer. I have long used Meguiar Solo diamond blades with their flexible base. I like smaller pads and flexible end plates, with the exception of the 3m Perfect Pads which are sometimes suitable for large flat screens. The smaller design allows you to maneuver the side mirrors and trunk contours much more easily. When they discontinued the single diamond pads my choice of pads in this size was reduced. I love the design of this pad, the foam rolls over the edge of the board which I think is very important to avoid burns in hard to reach areas where the contact of the board can quickly burn the paint in thin areas. But it has a plastic ring built in around the Velcro area, making alignment almost instantaneous, which is very helpful when switching between cutting and finishing plates while using the same base plate. The cushion design and fine-meshed foam hold the product very well, absorb quickly and do not create dust. I've used it twice already and got great results, especially on black with Meguiar's #205. I just hope they hold up. I never thought there could be such a big difference in foam quality between manufacturers, but there is. My unbranded pads had parts everywhere and very little use. If they're half as durable as Meguiar's Diamond Foam Pads, I'll buy them again.
