This was my first purchase of an Elegoo product and most likely my last. I always read product reviews until I convince myself to buy or not. I made it here. Almost 90% positive reviews so it probably wasn't my day. In any case. The product was delivered quickly, very well packaged. The assembly instructions are very simple and clearly illustrated if necessary. My 9 year old grandson and I put it together with no problems. That was good news. Driving is a whole different story. The two modes my grandson is interested in, IR remote control and line tracing mode, are both unavailable. .When working in IR mode I have to position the remote directly over the car and I almost always have to press the directional button several times before the car responds and moves. Once the car has driven a few meters and I try to change direction or go back, the car doesn't respond. Never. Again, I have to hold the remote within 3-4 feet directly above the car and press the command multiple times to get a response. The car is fully charged. I was hoping the problem was a low remote battery so I replaced it with a new fresh 2025 cell but unfortunately that didn't help at all. However, line following works with control buttons when the vehicle is moving. The steering of the vehicle has a constant oscillating movement, so that the vehicle oscillates back and forth throughout the journey. At the moment we have lost all hope of enjoying it and see no point in downloading applications for other modes. The price was very reasonable for a working product, but now it's basically a cute little robot car model that will sit on a wall shelf in my grandson's bedroom. We do a Christmas "elf on the shelf" every night, so our elf will have a cool looking ride for at least one night this week to at least sit until the kids find him. Bottom line, we found it hilariously built but useless and nothing more than a wall shelf in the bedroom for decoration. I hope you have better luck than us with this set.
