I have 3+ years and 22 months. I bought this to keep the little ones cycling while camping. I'm new to cycling, at least in my adult years, and I was a little nervous about having a 30-year-old in front of me. Installation went smoothly, I would say took about an hour and made sure everything was properly adjusted and tightened. I had to rearrange other things on the steering wheel (speedo, light and reflector) so it took a while. This item comes with the tools you need, but a set of Allen pins and a small set of sockets made it easy. When the girls first sat in the seat they weren't thrilled, but when we got to camp and did the first lap they asked to continue, the eldest has her own runner but she sits on it perfectly and she liked it it too. Children are 35 to 42 inches tall and weigh 30 to 38 pounds. The fun the kids had in one weekend was enough to make it worth it.
