Review on Extra Large Long-Handled Pureness Litter Scoop by Darrell Ricks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for quick daily dust removal and dust reduction

Perfect size for quick daily dust removal. Even with a large box, you can get all of the litter through one scoop for just half a dozen scoops through the litter. When using clumping litter, the large and wide fins also help reduce dust if used properly. For the money this is the perfect shovel. My approach: Dip the scoop deep into the litter and lift it up by gently shaking it back and forth. Do not raise it more than half an inch above the litter until the last piece of litter has been screened. Holding it close to the surface of the litter will allow very little dust to become airborne. The wide sipes make it fast and the large shovel area increases the percentage of dirt that doesn't go over the edges of the shovel. I'm deducting a star because plastic isn't as easy to keep clean as some metals. The plastic is also not very durable. Although mine lasted a year, it feels weak and sometimes makes a crackling noise that makes it look like it's giving up. I haven't figured out which part breaks yet, but I assume it will eventually fail. Considering the price, I don't mind buying a spare to have on hand. That's a tenth the price of a strong metal shovel, and some of them still break where the handle meets the metal shovel. But I'd be happier if I could spend a few bucks more and get something that seemed to last forever. I can't believe I have three paragraphs about cat poop scooping in my essay. What cat lovers will do for each other.
