Works well enough for meat (raw, semi-frozen, fresh), fruit/veg that I use the other side for. Cleaning is easy but seems to require a touch up after 1-2 uses per manufacturer's recommendation to touch up when the wood is lighter. My old board had to be repaired every 1=2 months for the 30+ years until it fell apart. I cook at home every day, every meal. I gave 3 stars because both sides are usable and it cleans well and also this size is what I'm used to and it fits me; otherwise the rating would be less than the stars.
