Works very well for a cheap filter. I bought one for my little turtles who spoil the water very quickly. It has a very strong water flow and circulates very well around the pool. It completely cleaned the already polluted water in 30 minutes. It does not require constant cleaning and is very easy to clean. The reusable filter inserts are an added benefit and no money is wasted here. I'm not sure how it will perform in a large aquarium, but it works great for small tanks. It also works when the water level is low. I was so impressed I bought another one for my cat's water tank (yes it has marimo balls in it, they love it). Well the cats weren't as impressed as I was but it gets rid of the spray and hair. 😉
