Problem: Nowadays with electronics getting old fast I still wanted the old and reliable HP printer 882C despite purchasing a multifunction printer. This is due to the "magic" 882C ink cartridges that never run out or dry out. However, my (not so) new computer eventually (with OS updates I guess?) stopped communicating with the printer even though it had the correct printer drivers. Converter cables can be problematic because the converter cable drivers that come with the printer often (and oddly) don't work properly. Switching to a standard AB USB cable solves the problem. I hope I've submitted this information correctly, but I'm mostly relying on what I've learned online. The bottom line is that I just had to connect this cable and now I can print with the HP 882C and use these replacement ink cartridges. Not to mention it's a green thing. Hope this helps someone else! Pros: - Saved my HP 882C printer from being thrown away (yes it's an old printer but it still works) - Just plug it in and it works - Very smart. CONS: - I don't know anything.
