Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

I switched to the eight after the old iPhone 5. In the five of 4 years ago, eternal jamming and a frankly outdated camera were not satisfied.
I'm an active photographer, so the camera was the main reason for switching to the eighth iPhone. When traveling, the iPhone has completely replaced a huge camera, and it shoots video better than many SLR cameras (a few can write 4K 60 fps, and even with such cool built-in stabilization). The difference in the camera is noticeable with the iPhone 7 - here they are more juicy and the HDR is deeper (in fact, the matrices are almost the same, but the iPhone now processes pictures differently in software).
I don't play games, so it's hard to judge performance. And who needs it? In daily tasks - instant messengers, photo retouching in editors, working with documents, Instagram - everything works perfectly and quickly.
If you are actively shooting and the camera is one of the main criteria for a new smartphone for you, then iPhones from the new line are definitely for you :)

Pros

1) Camera! Produces an amazing picture. The photos are excellent (with a lack of lighting, they are just good), but what is the video worth! 4K 60fps! I have never seen such a smooth, dynamic and high-contrast video on any smartphone. 2) Glass. Really strong. 4 times I already dropped it on tiles and asphalt (without a cover) - only subtle scratches appeared on the screen. And the glass iPhone is especially nice to hold in your hand. True, the tactile sensation is very cool. 3) Performance. Well, the iPhone 8 is really fast, even on slow iOS 11. Jamming happens extremely rarely and more often these are application bugs, not system bugs. Well, and all the other advantages of iPhones that were before: convenient synchronization of applications with a MacBook, Apple Pay, lightning-fast Touch ID, and so on.

Cons

Battery. Apple took and made the battery even smaller than the iPhone 7. As a result, even with a moderate load, the iPhone does not survive until the evening.
