Many reviews mention that this gate is very weak; I actually think the quality is very good for the price. If your dog is determined to get to what's on the other side, can they make it? It is possible. If they respect deterrence at all. should be good. You also need to consider the size of your dog. I have a 65 lb pit mix that is usually gate respectful so it works well for keeping them off the Christmas tree. I gave it 3 stars for maneuverability because I wish this gate had double hinges. If that were the case, it would be positioned around my tree instead of flat in front of it. 3 stars for durability because it's not flimsy, but it's not heavy either. It folds easily for storage and the color (mine is grey) is very nice and neutral!
