The standout feature is of course the variable speed, but this slows down considerably when pressure is applied to the work. The body feels like two parts as it moves at the joint. I would say it's an improvement over Harbor Freight mills which don't have variable speed. Good enough for limited work but gets very hot. The lower speed limit is 5000 rpm, which can be too fast for polishing the stone.
