If you mainly want to shoot outdoors and in good light, this camera is perfect for you. I bought it hoping for decent low-light performance, especially since it offers a nice bright f2.8 aperture. The camera would certainly not show up there. I had two lights on in my living room and I took a few shots and they both came out very dark and grainy. Just a little better with flash. Another area where I was disappointed is the overall build quality. It's mostly plastic and the screen itself feels cheap like it won't last long. All in all, for a sub-$100 point and shoot, this will be fine for most people, but if you're buying this and expecting good low-light photos, go ahead. I ended up returning it and buying a refurbished Pansonic Lumix DMC SZ7 for 75.00. Much faster autofocus, better low-light performance, if not great (what do you expect from point-and-shoot?), and the build quality is much better than this Canon. Although to each his own.
