Review on 🔌 StarTech.com 6ft/1.8m USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable - 8K 60Hz DP Monitor Cable for USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 by Sean Burnett

All Thunderbolt 3 certified Macs and PCs are also certified to transmit display signals (via DisplayPort) over USB-C. Unfortunately, this cable does not work with the latest generation MacBook Pro and the latest generation Dell display that are both DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C certified. Might just be a bad cable but a 3 star rating. I'll try a different brand of cable with the same specs/connector types, if that doesn't help I'll revisit this review as it doesn't indicate anything specific to the StarTech model. I've generally had good luck with StarTech display specific cables like this in the past (i.e. something other than the same specs/connector type on both ends).
