Overall, StarTech is good, but it didn't work

All Thunderbolt 3 certified Macs and PCs are also certified to transmit display signals (via DisplayPort) over USB-C. Unfortunately, this cable does not work with the latest generation MacBook Pro and the latest generation Dell display that are both DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C certified. Might just be a bad cable but a 3 star rating. I'll try a different brand of cable with the same specs/connector types, if that doesn't help I'll revisit this review as it doesn't indicate anything specific to…

Well made electronics

I bought these products to use, it turned out not to fit my computer, but it was a very good product, you could say it was well made and good was quality, i can't tell you how it works because it didn't work for my purpose i bought it for and on my computer i'm pretty sure it was compatible with hp product that I have, it just didn't really work with a monitor, but as far as it was physical it was a nice product and looked very well put together, it was very sturdy

Never a problem with StarTech cables

Used to connect a Thunderbolt 4 port on a laptop to a DisplayPort on a 4K monitor. Transmits 4K video at 60MHz and high-definition audio to a monitor that also includes built-in speakers. Flexible enough to be easily routed, and Thunderbolt 4 makes for a lot less clutter than plugging an HDMI cable into my laptop. Bravo!

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Price: Computer Accessories and Peripherals

I first bought the same cable from CableMatters. I was planning to use this with KVM but the signal wasn't strong enough and the picture had static and random flickering. This cable was a bit more expensive but it was worth it as it works as expected for my use case.

  • Great Price

I have a Macbook Pro 16 and I need the best USB C to Displayport that is Displayport 1.4 tested and certified. I connected my new Samsung G7 display to my Mac and got 240Hz, 1ms and FreeSync support. In the old build you had your own computer shop. Startech cables have always been around the city and they have changed over the years due to changes in technology. They cost a little more but the quality is the same as the cables but they always work. Reliable Displayport cable.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Updates available

The cable is too thin to be good.

I'm trying to improve my external monitor connection. Right now I'm using a DV cable with a MacBookPro USB-C adapter - it gets hot, my video gets shaky. I want to simplify the connection by omitting the adapter. The cable on this one is 3.5mm in diameter, the cable I'm trying to replace is 10mm in diameter. Also, it arrived in a damaged plastic bag and it looks like the cable is broken - the two sides of the loop cable in the packaging look like they were smashed, the plastic cover is curled…

Quality cable with good customer support.

Quality cable. Unfortunately doesn't work with the new 16" MacBook Pro. Works great with older models. StarTech support was great and offered to replace it for free.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Security

So perfect for my monitor

I just recently got my hands on a 43 inch monitor which unfortunately only had HDMI and DisplayPort options. I was using a monitor with USB-C so I was in a dilemma. I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro that only has Thunderbolt/USB-C ports, so I needed a way to connect to a new monitor. That's when I started looking for a cable I could trust to get the job done. The USB-C to DisplayPort cable didn't seem easy to find in a major department store, so I looked here. My only requirement is that it must be…
