If you've ever been in the army, you know that 550 cables consumes a million and one. It's the infantry's duct tape, and while I'm no longer an infantryman, I still carry 550 cords with me when I need to (and will). This particular 550 cable is well made. While I'll probably never need to test its claimed 550-pound strength, I've used it for everything from attaching things to my everyday backpack when hiking, to attaching items to my motorcycle while riding, to making a hasty sheath for mine Knives and their uses... for any number of straps for any number of combat or survival gear. And that particular 550 cable is made right here in America. For me, the 550 line is so connected to my infantry and combat duty that using any fake crap made in China would seem almost criminal according to the UCMJ. It's good stuff, works well, and is made in America.
