Description of High-Quality PARACORD PLANET Type III ๐ŸŒŸ 7 Strand 550 Paracord: Ultimate Tactical Survival Rope

Perfect for your next hike this nylon 550lb paracord will not rot or mildew. It's a great all weather material perfect for all your tactical survival situations. Typically measures 5/32" in diameter. The yarns of the core can also be removed when finer string is needed, for instance as sewing thread to repair gear, or to be used as fishing line in a survival situation. In addition to purely utility functions, paracord can be used for braided bracelets, lanyards and belts. 550lb 7 strand cord. Wrapped in a 100% Nylon Jacket. Strong and durable. Multi-purpose: camping, fishing, hiking, survival and more.

The cord is fine. Excellent delivery.

OK. Not great but okay. I have a large dog that easily jumps a four or five foot fence. I used this to add an extension over the fence by tying it to the trees and then adding zig zag patterns over the fence. It expands so the dog will still pull down and jump sometimes, but not as often. Damn squirrels!

Not the same neon green as before

I've been using Paracord Planet for a number of years and for some reason when I order neon green from Amazon it's not 100% nylon and it seems cheap. It doesn't melt with any of my 100% nylon paracords and only melts with the few polyamide/nylon blends I have. This is the third time I have bought this color hoping that the mistake was just an accident but I was wrong. It doesn't even shimmer like normal cord, its color is light but very dull. All other colors I ordered were great but not neonโ€ฆ

Not neon green but safe green, the color on the box is wrong

green. While it's still a great paracord, I'm currently working (at sea) and can't finish my projects that required neon green. Please have someone check the color markings. This is not the first time this has happened to me with paracord planet orders that paracord planets have not followed, other times I have found use for the cord. Now I'm stuck with a 100ft cable that I can't return or use. and will only be introduced after the return period has expired. I hope the new cable I ordered isโ€ฆ

The cable worked perfectly, did not stretch.

Bought for a trip to bear country. Recently I did this on a 4 day 3 day river crossing. We wrapped the rope around the rock and swung it back and forth, throwing it 15 to 25 feet over the branches of the trees. Sometimes the rock and rope hit the ground and/or riverbed many times before reaching the right spots. Tied to detachable backpack bags and dragged through the air from 8 to 15 pounds of food and snacks and tied to a nearby tree. I carried all 100 feet. It was a bit heavy (I also have aโ€ฆ

Made in America Cord 550, what else can I say?

If you've ever been in the army, you know that 550 cables consumes a million and one. It's the infantry's duct tape, and while I'm no longer an infantryman, I still carry 550 cords with me when I need to (and will). This particular 550 cable is well made. While I'll probably never need to test its claimed 550-pound strength, I've used it for everything from attaching things to my everyday backpack when hiking, to attaching items to my motorcycle while riding, to making a hasty sheath for mineโ€ฆ

Excellent alone; Doesn't fit well

This was my first experience of buying paracord, so my answer reflects my naivety. Shortly after, I bought different colors at Hobby Lobby for about the same price. I have found that the two products (Paracord Planet and HL) differ in several important ways. PP is round and very durable. My feed couldn't get through it to match two colors. Feed could hardly open the end either and it was with great difficulty that I was able to combine PP black with another color (using Manny's method). Evenโ€ฆ

Great line for your purposes!

Item of decent quality but no, it's not up to military specs. At the same time, all screamers need to check reality. If you are looking for a genuine military issued Type III paracord you will not find it here at this price point. This material works as intended. That means: high quality, MULTIFUNCTIONAL cable. It will do almost everything a regular paracord does, but it doesn't have the same durability or finish quality. Don't be an idiot and don't try to build a parachute or push it awayโ€ฆ

Great paracord. A short information.

I just wanted to correct what I saw in the reviews. It's true that if paracord is to be sold to the military (aka MIL-C-5040) it must have a colored thread identifier, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's of higher quality, it simply means it's made for Sale is marked to the military and likely has a stricter quality control threshold. The requirements of MIL-C-5040 (or at least those relevant to this discussion) are to use a total of seven 630 denier filaments (denier is essentially aโ€ฆ
