Beware of setup problems!

First of all it's a great product. It's definitely worth the money. The only problem, and it's a big problem, is the setup. I couldn't get my Elgato keylights to work with my computer/modem. The solution was to use my iPhone to control the lights. I bought two headlights. In my opinion more than two of these lights is overkill as you can use something else (e.g. lamps) to provide additional light if needed. My Broadcom 80211ac adapter has both 2.4 and 5 GHz options. For some reason it only connects my computer to 5GHz, even though I can use either 2.4GHz or 5GHz on my iPhone. So after spending hours with Elgato tech support trying to get the Control Center app to recognize my light ethers, I gave up and connected to my iPhone. I set the IPhone to 2.4GHz (required as it doesn't work on 5GHz), downloaded the Control Center app to my phone (via the Apple Store) and the app finally recognized the Airlight devices. However, detecting two light sources required a bit of fiddling with the settings on the iPhone. So to help others, here's how I did it. First, turn on the light air, hold the button on the device near the switch and press it until the light flashes three times. Then after turning on the light, turn it off and then back on. Then go to iPhone settings and WIFI section and add light air device to iPhone. You then go to the Control Center app and it should recognize your new device. To get the second light to work, follow the same process (after turning off the first light). On my iPhone, when adding a new device to the wifi range, it still showed the name of the first device even though it was treated as a new second device. When you enter the Control Center app, wait a moment and turn on both displays (actual displays) and both displays will appear in the Control app. So the tricky part was that when you actually add a new device, you don't add a new device on the iPhone in the WIFI section, even though the description doesn't change (it doesn't change the name of the first device). Then you go into the controls app and turn on two lightbulbs and phew, here are your lightbulbs in the controls app. However, if you switch back to 5GHz, you will no longer be able to use your lights. So if you want to use the light you need to set your WiFi to 2GHz and not 5. Elgato was very happy I was able to get this to work so give them a call as there should be a ticket on how my two lights were set up. . health and good luck!
