I had to move the sensors and headset for my Oculus Rift VR system off my PC (into the next room where I don't have floor space). From my calculations, I needed about 30 feet of cable to the USB ports on the sensors. At their previous location, I used Monoprice 15-inch active USB 3.0 cables, and the VR software often reported that they ran at 2.0 speeds. So I was a bit apprehensive about that last step and doubling the cable length. I'm happy to report that the sensors (according to the VR software) work at USB 3.0 speeds with the new cables and after 'testing' I've done with various VR apps the system works flawlessly.
