I bought this watch to replace an aging digital atomic projection watch that was losing segments of the projection display. Unfortunately, this watch does not meet the requirements. I like the ad and the information provided is more than adequate. However, I was dying to use the backlight for night vision, but as others have said, it's too bright for a bedroom at night. It's like leaving the television on. Another downside was the limited viewing angle. The display was unreadable from my desk to where it was hanging on the wall above my TV. I tried to put it on the table, but the brightness (even during the day) was too high. Finally. The power cord connects to the side of the clock and the cord is so short that the power adapter cannot be plugged into an extension cord and you cannot plug power into an extension cord and leave it hanging. The power cord pulls down the right side of the clock. I'm afraid this watch has been switched to battery-only backup for my iPad watch (which is infinitely adjustable in both brightness and backlight). I'm still looking for an atomic clock with an adjustable red LED display.
