Review on 🚰 Optimized Brita 42633 Faucet Filtration System by Joe Griggs

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unfortunately this is the best faucet filter

I have tried several faucet filters. Having filtered water for my family means a lot to me as there is a high possibility of harmful contaminants in our system (our neighborhood in town still has lead pipes to supply water to our house). Our family can't afford the high cost of an embedded system, and we can't afford to lose storage space in our small house. The pur system broke after a month of use, water splashed everywhere. There is no way I would buy this product again, although I could buy filters cheaper than Brita's. The Brita system usually works for about 1-2 years. We recently had to replace our existing one as the indicator light stopped working after 18 months of use and there were some small drips on the connectors. Our faucet does not require adapters to install the product, I install it in 5-6 minutes without tools and it filters the water well and tells me when to change the filter (every 1-2 months) - A+ in mine A book. But the short lifespan and higher cost of the filters lower my rating for this product. Other reviewers question whether the sensor actually works or can be "reset". I had erroneous readings when the new filter ran out, but that's usually due to a dirty sensor, which is easily cleaned with a pipe cleaner after the filter is removed. But I was never able to "reset" the filter life by removing the used filter and inserting it into the holder. It always shows me that the used filter is dirty. I actually like it because it really tells me when the filter is dirty to use it.

Pros
  • Tool-free installation
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other options
