Efficiently packaged in a tiny box with key ring, key chain, 7 1/2 inch long USB C cable, and product sheet with a diagram, product info, & quick use guide (charge fully before first use). There is a tiny red dot right next to the USB C port which lights up when charging. Then it glows green when fully charged.How loud? It is painfully loud when pulled indoors. Outside, the sound is loud but dissipates more easily as expected. The sound reminds me of the electronic sound that triggers when an emergency exit door is opened. Or similar to the sound of a smoke alarm at a hotel.TEST: Compared it to a standard whistle which I also ordered + reviewed. The whistle was noticeably louder. However, each device has it's own benefits. For instance, the whistle will always work as long as you blow, it is very handy + hands free (hangs on cord around neck), is cheaper, and doesn't require electricity for charging. On the other hand, this personal alarm just needs to be pulled. It will continue to sound on it's own without any additional effort, until battery runs out or the pin is plugged back in.My recommendation: It depends on the situation, but if you feel like a loud alarm is necessary AND you want to make as much noise as possible. then it might be a good idea to carry BOTH this personal alarm AND a whistle on your neck.
